Honda begins sales of its HondaJet Advanced Light Jet

Honda, having recently entered the Light Jet market in the US with its innovative HondaJet, began taking sales orders at the recent National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) Convention in Orlando, Florida with the announcement of price, specifications, and sales and service network for the production version of HondaJet. Scheduled to go into production in the U.S., HondaJet is priced at $3.65 million in its standard configuration. Having recently applied for FAA type certification of HondaJet, the company anticipates achieving both type and production certification within three to four years and this will be followed by the start of production.
Honda has also formed a business alliance with Piper Aircraft Inc. to collaborate on sales and service, and to explore opportunities in engineering and other areas within general and business aviation.

“A passion for aviation propelled HondaJet into the air, but a strong business case is what is taking it to the customer”, said Takeo Fukui, President and CEO of Honda Motor Company Limited. “In every one of our business activities, our goal is to create new value for the customer. HondaJet meets this challenging objective.”
HondaJet features several innovations that help it achieve far better fuel efficiency, larger cabin and luggage space and higher cruise speed than conventional aircraft in its class.
Aviation has been an important dream for Honda for more than four decades.
The announcement to commercialise HondaJet comes just one year after the plane made its world public debut at EEA AirVenture 2005, the world’s largest annual aviation gathering.
