Honda Project 2&4 powered by RC213V Concept
‘Honda Project 2&4 powered by RC213V’, the winning entry from Honda’s ‘Global Design Project’, made its global debut at the 66th Frankfurt Motor Show 2015. Embodying the concept of ‘creative craftsmanship’, Honda Project 2&4 celebrates Honda’s position as the world’s leading engine manufacturer, providing engines to 28 million people per year across two- and four-wheel automotive, power equipment, marine and aerospace applications.
An example of the continuous effort by Honda to design an ever-more immersive driving experience, Honda Project 2&4 brings together the brand’s unique capabilities in two- and four-wheel mobility. Featuring the RC213V competition motorcycle engine, which has been modified to run on public roads, Honda Project 2&4 provides the freedom of a motorcycle and the manoeuvrability of a car.
Its exceptional power unit, developed for the world-class MotoGP motorcycle racing series and specially tuned for the public road, is a 999 cc V-4 four-stroke unit and conforms to Honda’s ‘The Power of Dreams’ guiding philosophy that inspires innovation and originality. Peak power output is over 215 PS at 13,000 rpm, while peak torque of over 118 Nm is delivered at 10,500 rpm. Transmission is provided by a six-speed DCT gearbox.
The advanced Honda FCV Concept debuted in Japan in November 2014. The FCV Concept points towards a production model, the Honda Clarity, which is scheduled to go on sale in Japan in March 2016, followed by the U.S. and Europe.
Honda’s next generation fuel cell-electric vehicle will feature the world’s first application of a fuel-cell powertrain packaged completely in the engine room of the vehicle, allowing for efficiencies in cabin space as well as flexibility in the potential application of FC technology to multiple vehicle types in the future.
Significant technological advancements to the fuel-cell stack have yielded more than a 60 percent increase in power density while reducing the size of the stack by 33 percent compared to the FCX Clarity. It is anticipated to deliver a cruising range of more than 700km with quick refuelling of about three minutes at a pressure of 70 MPa.
The sleekly styled Honda FCEV Concept, made its world debut at the Los Angeles International Auto Show 2013. The concept was the first preview of the Honda's next-generation Fuel-Cell vehicle, which would eventually become the Honda Clarity, on sale in 2016.
Showcasing exciting and modern styling, the Honda FCEV Concept features sweeping character lines underscored by an ultra-aerodynamic body. The Honda FCEV Concept also delivers ample passenger space and seating for five passengers.
“The Honda FCEV Concept hints at Honda’s future direction for fuel-cell vehicles,” said Tetsuo Iwamura, president and CEO of American Honda Motor Co., Inc. “While this car is a concept, it points toward a very real future.
Honda unveiled the S660 Concept at the Tokyo Motor Show 2013. The Concept aims to deliver nimble and dynamic driving, outstanding stability and a dynamic design that are only possible with a mid-ship layout. The S660 Concept is a development of the EV-STER Concept
Speaking at the Honda Press Conference, Takanobu Ito, CEO and President of Honda Motor Co., said, “This model embodies the freewheeling thinking of young Honda engineers, who want to make a cool car that is unique to Honda. Our engineers are devoting their passion and technologies to the development of this model.”
Designed for the Japanese kei-car market, the concept went on to become a production model in the Honda S660, a Japanese domestic market model designed for the 'Kei Car' class.
The EV-STER Concept is a next-generation electric small sports concept model. Featuring a dynamic and innovative styling design and excellent environmental performance, the EV-STER, an electric rear-wheel-drive two-seater convertible sports car, will propose a new way to enjoy a sports type model. The adoption of carbon materials made it possible to reduce the vehicle weight contributing to the vehicle's high driving performance and range of approximately 160km.
The easy-to-operate twin-lever steering was adopted for the thorough pursuit of the joy of driving. Moreover, the new concept model enables the driver to make his/her own adjustments to some vehicle characteristics such as motor output and suspension settings, to embody the joy of manoeuvring to the fullest extent.
The AC-X Concept, standing for Advanced Cruiser eXperience, is a Plug-In Hybrid concept demonstrating Honda's latest advancements in Hybrid technology. The vehicle can operate in electric-only mode for zero-emissions driving and also in hybrid mode where the electric powertrain and combustion engine work together. The vehicle range in pure electric mode is approximately 50km, while in hybrid mode with both engines working in tandem, a range of over 1,000km is possible.
Micro Commuter Concept
The Micro Commuter Concept is Honda's vision for an electric vehicle for the Urban environment. Designed to seat 3 people in comfort, the driver is positioned to the centre of the vehicle with space for 2 passengers behind on either side. The exterior even features customisable graphic panels allowing drivers to change the style of their car as they wish. The electric power train features lithium-ion batteries for a range of up to 60km and a charging time of as little as 1 hour.
